Our World: Our Future

Fierce flames blind the forest,

Emerald land crumbles away.

Pollution dances on the seabed in masses,

Bears with silk fur float on the polluted ocean,
Rubbish piles up to prod the sky,

Famished river beds groan for water.

The bodies of animals move no more,

Happiness and joy turn their backs on the world.
Mother Nature falls back into her death bed,

The world wilts away.

Where ornate trees once caressed the land,

Fields of ash and embers scorch the pasture.
Waves batter into capital cities,

Lifeless bodies washed away.

The shriek of chainsaws echo through the forest,
Beaches choke on plastic.

Storms rage and devastation reigns,

Thunder rolls and lightning blares.

Animals wail and anguish as they are taken by the fire,
Despair and gloom roam the land.

The startled caw of birds rebound around the world.
A sandstorm engulfs the lifeless desert,

The heat unbearably strong.

Children are starving and skinny like sticks,

Floods sweep up houses and cars.

Humans can’t escape disaster and travesty,
Drowning Polar bears look to the last sunset they will ever see, and coil at the sight of a
bland, empty world.

Lush trees touch the sapphire sky,

Babbling brooks steam through rich rainforests bustling with life.
Crystal clear water brushes past the clean shore,

Coral reefs alive and well.

Wild, raspy Autumn winds pass dainty, flourishing flowers,
Azaleas blossom and let out a lavish aura.

Orchards filled with fruit meet the sky,

Birds quaint cheeps wake wildlife in the forest.

The smell of homemade goods waft out of houses,

Gardens full of life and plants.

Public areas are now exquisite, elegant hanging gardens.
Stunning waterfalls towering overhead,

Rubies and emeralds bejewel the sky.

Forests teaming with life,

Magnificent sunsets turn the sky pink.

The tweets of angelic songbirds whistle through the fjord,

Rich and steamy rivers babble through the jungle.

Children of all races and gender have proper healthcare and education,
A luscious, luxuriant world.

A world full of care, respect and happiness.
