Morrison’s Community Champions Burns Supper

On the 25th January, 2017, 10 people from Mure Memorial were invited to enjoy a Burns Supper at Morrisons in Baillieston along with some others. Morrisons aim to celebrate hard work and dedication shown by people in the local community and in this case for our church.

Mary Mathieson 90th Birthday Celebration

The congregation, family and friends of Mary joined together after the church service on 20th November, 2016, to celebrate her reaching the age of 90. A good lunch was enjoyed by all and many thanks go to all the team who delivered a magnificent spread. Mary below blew out the candles and everyone sang happy birthday to her, which she really loved.

MAP Cabaret Night

here was a fundraiser for the Mure Access Project on Saturday, 8th October, 2016, which was greatly enjoyed by all who attended. More importantly there was £1005 raised towards the project, which seeks to provide better access for people who are less mobile.

GB Juniors: Paramedic Visit

The girls enjoyed a vist on Wednesday, 9th November, from two paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service.

The girls learned about the Ambulance Service, how to administer CPR and were also treated to an on board experience in an ambulance.

At the Company Section Annual Inspection, on the 17th May, 2013, Glasgow Battalion Secretary Jim McVean presented 137th Captain John Strachan with two Long Service Awards. One for being captain for 30 years and one for reaching 55 years service with the Boys’ Brigade. An excellent achievement
