A presentation evening was held due to the retirement of the Rev. Alex Stuart, Session Clerk Janet Park and a change of job for Child and Youth Worker Douglas Robertson.
Alex had ministered to Mure Memorial for the last five years during which time he had become an integral part of our church and local community and will be greatly missed. However, as Alex always takes every opportunity to preach the gospel, he no doubt will be keeping his skills alive.
Janet Park has been a member of Mure Memorial for over 40 years, serving the congregation in many different ways, ranging from Session Clerk, to Link editor, to relief Organist. Her talents and presence will be sorely missed.
Douglas had been with us for just four short years, but during this time made an impact in the surrounding community and the church. The impression he made on the local children will always be remembered and we wish him well in his new role.
Fine speeches were delivered by Alastair Borthwick, Moira Scott and Elizabeth Russell, followed by the presentations and then the packed hall was treated to the finest home baking, tea and coffee. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to this excellent evening.
