Sheila Blackwood’s 50 Years of Service to Girl Guiding

A surprise celebration was held in Mure Memorial on Saturday, 29th February, 2020, to mark the 50 years of outstanding service that Sheila has given to the Girl Guides. Her fellow Guide leaders laid on a fantastic afternoon tea which was enjoyed by all.

Sheila opened Garrowhill Brownies, known as 2nd Garrowhill, 50 years ago and the name changed to 354th Glasgow a few years later. She has been a treasure to the community, making Brownies so much fun for hundreds of girls, many of whom now send their children and grandchildren to the pack.

She has given so much to Guiding and we are all very grateful. She is an inspiration to all leaders.
