GB Juniors & Brigaders: The Humane Society 2016
William Graham from The Humane Society visited the Juniors and Brigaders and taught us about their work.
Mary Mathieson 90th Birthday Celebration
The congregation, family and friends of Mary joined together after the church service on 20th November, 2016, to celebrate her reaching the age of 90. A good lunch was enjoyed by all and many thanks go to all the team who delivered a magnificent spread. Mary below blew out the candles and everyone sang happy birthday to her, which she really loved.
MAP Cabaret Night
here was a fundraiser for the Mure Access Project on Saturday, 8th October, 2016, which was greatly enjoyed by all who attended. More importantly there was £1005 raised towards the project, which seeks to provide better access for people who are less mobile.
Many thanks to Twilite for the entertainment and to Garrowhill Bowling Club for allowing us to hold this on their premises.
GB Juniors: Paramedic Visit
The girls enjoyed a vist on Wednesday, 9th November, from two paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service.
The girls learned about the Ambulance Service, how to administer CPR and were also treated to an on board experience in an ambulance.
Malcolm’s 30th Ordination Celebration
After a rousing service the congregation joined Malcolm for lunch to Celebrate. A first class lunch was enjoyed to which many thanks go to all who worked so hard to make this a success.
Bill Russell
On Sunday, 14th June, 2015, Bill Russell was presented with a certificate to mark over 40 years service as our Church Organist at Mure Memorial. His many years of faithful service to Mure Memorial has been greatly appreciated over the years. It is with great sadness that Bill passed away on the 27th April, 2016. Boys’ Brigade Junior Section
The 137th Glasgow Company Boys’ Brigade Junior Section meet on Thursday evenings from September to early May from 7:15-9:00 p.m. for ages 8-11 years (Primary 4-6). Boys’ Brigade, Company Section
Our Boys Brigade company at Mure Memorial is the 137th Glasgow. If you would like further information about the Company please email the Captain on boysbrigade@mure.org The Company Section of the Boys’ Brigade meets on Fridays from September to April, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. for 11 to 16 year
Badminton Club
The Badminton Club meet on Monday nights from 8 to 10 p.m. In the Large Hall in the Church from October to April, and is open to women and men 16+. The skill levels of the members is very varied and we all enjoy the game, the friendship and
Monday Summer Friendship Club 2023
The Fellowship enjoyed their closing lunch on 31st July, 2023, which also included a sing-song and some dancing. A great time was had by all who attended.Thanks to everyone who helped make this a successful session. There were between 20 and 30 people who attended each week who certainly enjoyed themselves.
BB Junior Section: Bible Knowledge 2023
The Angus Stuart Trophy for Bible Knowledge was begun in honour of Mr Stuart’s many years of faithful service to the 137th. It is quite a difficult competition and requires a lot of work by the boys. The winner this year – for the second time – is Ethan Hooper.
