Sheila Blackwood’s 50 Years of Service to Girl Guiding
A surprise celebration was held in Mure Memorial on Saturday, 29th February, 2020, to mark the 50 years of outstanding service that Sheila has given to the Girl Guides. Her fellow Guide leaders laid on a fantastic afternoon tea which was enjoyed by all.

BB Junior Section: Indoor Sports Competition 2020
The 137th Glasgow Company attended the Glasgow Battalion Indoor Sports competition at the Emirates Arena on 16th January, 2020. The boys had a great time taking part in the impressive Emirates Sports Arena. This is an exceptionally competitive event which is very well attended, and success is hard to come by. All the boys did very well, and two of them reached great success.

Chalking the Step 2020
On Sunday, 5th January, 2020, Mure Memorial held a Chalking the Step blessing after the morning service.
This was in collaboration with visual artists Gardner & Gardner and the Moderator who invited every congregation to gather at the front steps of their church and pray a blessing on everyone who will cross the threshold of their building in 2020.

John Coutts – Bon Voyage
After many, many years of service within Mure Memorial, it was good for the congregation to be able to wish farewell to John as he moves down to Southampton to live with his daughter.

MAP Official Opening Ceremony 2019
On Sunday, 12th May, 2019, after many years of piloting the Mure Access Project to provide improved access facilities to the church for our community, Peter Malcolm and Janet Park, were present to see their hard work come to fruition. The new facilities takes the form of a building extension with a lift and additional accessible toilet facilities. An enjoyable lunch was held after the opening ceremony which everyone enjoyed.

Presentation Evening
A presentation evening was held due to the retirement of the Rev. Alex Stuart, Session Clerk Janet Park and a change of job for Child and Youth Worker Douglas Robertson.
Faure’s Requiem
COME & SING – FAURE’S REQUIEM

This is your chance to sing or listen to a performance of Faure’s Requiem. Organised by Dr Katy Cooper, the Director of Chapel Music at the University of Glasgow and Andrew Forbes, the Director of Music at Glasgow Cathedral.

The Junior Section BB boys enjoyed a visit to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Fire Service station in Easterhouse on Thursday, 28th November, 2019.

GIFT SERVICE 2019
On Sunday, 8th December, 2019, Mure Memorial had a very successful Gift Service where presents were collected for two charities – Glasgow the Caring City is a charity which supports children in crisis here and overseas – and Glasgow East Women’s Aid who provide support for women, children and young people who are affected by domestic abuse. Below are the The JAM Club members who assisted with the collection of the gifts.

45th Girls’ Brigade Charity Event 12/2023
What a wonderful, fun evening we had on Wednesday Thank you to everyone who came along, those who donated baking and warm clothes, and for all the contributions. We made an AMAZING £400 for Glasgow the Caring City. THANK YOU !!

The Guild Christmas Lunch 2023
The Guild Christmas Lunch was held on Thursday, 7th December, in the large hall with around 40 ladies in attendance.
Everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch of soup, sandwiches and cakes and then were entertained by Seline and John with music and song.
Each member also received a little gift. A great time was had by all.
Many thanks to everyone who contributed their skills in providing all the food and ensuring all were looked after.

First Sunday of Advent 2023
Today, Sunday, 3rd December, 2023, was the first Sunday in Advent. It was a nice occasion for Ross who was asked to light the first candle by Edson.
I know he would be very pleased to be involved. Well done, Ross.
