GB Explorers: Collage Competition 2019
The 45th Glasgow attended the Girls’ Brigade Collage Competition at Renfield St Stephen’s Church, on Saturday, 26th January, 2019, with three teams entering.
BB Junior Section: Glasgow Battalion Indoor Sports 2019
The Glasgow Battalion held an Indoor Sports Competition for Junior Section boys on the 18th January, 2019. There were over 100 boys taking part in the various events at the Emirates Arena. All boys tooks part in events of 60 and 200 metre races, shot putt and long jump. There was a also a team relay race and tug-of-war. The boys enjoyed themselves immensely.
Boys’ Brigade Junior Section Dalguise Weekend 2018
Excellent weekend at Dalguise. The weather was kind and particularly warm and sunny on the Sunday, Activities and food were excellent as was our PGL group leader Danny. Canoeing, Archery, Orienteering, Survivor, Challenge Course, Sensory Trail, Quad Biking and Climbing Wall were the daytime activities. Evening activities included Ambush and Capture The Flag.
GB Juniors: Treasure Hunt 2018
Six girls and two officers attended the Glasgow Girls’ Brigade Treasure Hunt on Sunday, 7th October, 2018 and had great fun and success, chasing clues round the city centre. Despite being soaked through our girls came in first. Well done to all who took part and enjoyed a great afternoon organised by the brigade.
90th Birthday Celebrations 2018
After church, on Sunday, 19th August, 2018, a lunch was held to celebrate four 90th birthdays. Below are our members who have reached this magnificent milestone, from left to right: Mamie Johnston, John Hannah, Janey Drummond and Jessie MacIntyre. An enjoyable meal was enjoyed by all. Many thanks to all who contributed to make this a successful occasion.

Presentation to Anne Stuart
On Sunday, 22nd April, 2018, a presentation was made to Anne Stuart on her retiral from 43 years of decorating the church sanctuary with flowers.
Her achievements in displaying God’s creation with such skill and artistry have been greatly enjoyed by the congregation and we all wish her well in her retirement from this work.
BB Company Section: Queens’ Badge 2018
On the 16th March, at the Anchor Boy and Company Section Display of the 137th Glasgow Company Boys’ Brigade two young men were rewarded for all their hard work by the presentation of the Queen’s Badge Award.
Congratulations go to Ross Wallace and Ryan Goudie.
Well done to them both!
GB Juniors: Christmas Movie Night
The girls enjoyed a Christmas Movie Night with pizza and popcorn – all dressed in their jammies on Wednesday, 14th December, 2017. A great time was had by everyone
BB Eastern District Indoor Games 2017
The Boys’ Brigade Junior Section Eastern District Indoor Games Competition was held at the halls of Shettleston Old on Saturday, 25th March. Great fun was had by all the boys who attended. The 137th had a particularly good day, with one group of boys coming 1st and another group of three, who had joined up with two other companies, came 2nd.
Bible Reading & Art Competitions 2017
The Eastern District Boys’ Brigade Junior Section Bible Reading and Art Competitions were held in Kenmure Church on Tuesday, 28th February. The judges found it difficult to separate the boys in both competitions
BB Company Section Camera Class 2017
The Company Section boys enjoyed a three-week course photographic course which culminated in many nice pictures.
Morrison’s Community Champions Burns Supper
On the 25th January, 2017, 10 people from Mure Memorial were invited to enjoy a Burns Supper at Morrisons in Baillieston along with some others. Morrisons aim to celebrate hard work and dedication shown by people in the local community and in this case for our church.
